There is difference in social and artistic pursuit between Lao She and other writers. The main purpose of Lao She＇s literature creation is to explore and select a new culture model. A distinctive spirit of culture criticism appears in his hterary works. Taking the abnormal mind of the civic world as his breakthrough point, Lao She deeply dissected and criticized the confirmed habits and vulgar customs of Chinese civic personality, and furthermore, explored their social, historical and cultural root. In addition, Lao She tried to find the melting point of Chinese and western culture in order to remold citizen＇s ideal personality, which indicated his great worry about our nation＇s fate and his conceptin of the ideal society in the future.
