Consciousness of Cultural Identity Reflected in Afro-American Literature

美国黑人文学揭示了黑人长期被迫面对的种族歧视和文化身份危机,也记载和推动了黑人文化身份意识逐步走向自觉的历程,而文化身份意识的增强也促进了黑人文学的发展。从黑人文化身份意识的发展路程可以看到,通过保持和发扬民族传统文化的方式来加强文化身份认同及建构是有效的途径。

Afro-American literature has exposed the age-long racial discrimination and cultural identity crisis encountered by Afro-Americans, also recorded and promoted the whole process of the black cultural identity consciousness growing from weak to strong as reflected in Afro-American literature, which has in return accelerated the development of Afro-American literature. Based on the shaping of the black cultural identity consciousness, it has been proved to be an effective approach to realize the identification and reconstruction of cultural identity by maintaining and enhancing the splendid traditional black culture.
