Harmonious thinking has long had a deep effect on Chinese art, directly restricting and ruling the traditional aesthetic sentiment. As an important form of art, music has many kinds of expressions with the same nature, i.e. the harmonious expression of the comparison of a certain pitch. Zhouyi, as the major source of Chinese civilization, holds in store rich and deep harmonious ideas, exerting a profound influence on the evolution of Chinese civilization. Besides, its harmonious ideas also penetrate other related subjects, and Chinese culture, politics and social life all have been greatly affected by its ideas of harmonious yin and yang. Therefore, we can safely say that the development of music was more directly influenced by the harmonious ideas of Zhouyi than coincidental with them. Being aware of this is conducive to realizing the innovation and development of music by understanding the nature of music.
