近代以来,随着旅外人数的增加、组织化程度的提高、政治经济实力的增强以及现代信息媒介的普及等,山东移民也频频参与本省的赈济行动之中,其参与途径包括帮助逃荒同乡、争取国家救济资源、捐助或募集善款等;这既减轻了山东的赈灾压力,保住了更多灾民的生命,也增强了与家乡的互动和联系。

Since modern times, with the great increase of immigrants, associations of fellow provincials or townsmen greatly improved,political and economic force strengthened, modern information media spread, immigrants of Shandong frenqently took part in the relief enterprise actively. They helped the victims of a natural calamity, strived to get relief resource of central government, and raised the beneficence, which not only reduced the stress of Shandong, but also preserved the lives of many victims, and enhanced their ties with the homeland.
