The property parameters and working principle of liquid ring vaccum pump were introduced. The fault reasons were analysed such＂ as the seal leakage phenomenon, the wear of pump bearing locking sleeve, the insufficient of vaccum pumping ability. In order to make the liquid ring vaccum pump long term high load steady running, the corresponding countermeasures taken in the maintenance and the optimum operation in the production were put forward.
