Application of Crosstalk "Cloth-wrapper" Technique in the On-line Meaning Construction of Verbal Humor with Conceptual Blending Theory

"包袱"手法是中国传统艺术形式相声特有的幽默表现手法。它在小品及某些新兴的手机短信中也成为一种制造幽默效果的重要技巧。本文试在概念合成理论的框架下对"包袱"手法如何在受众的心理上达到幽默效果进行认知解读。

＂Cloth-wrapper＂ technique is the special skill of organizing the language to bring about a hu- morous effect in the traditional Chinese artistic form Crosstalk. It has been applied successfully to popu- lar Chinese stage short plays and short messages of mobile phones. This paper aims to analyze how the audience or reader interprets the humorous effect in their mental spaces brought about by the application of such ＂cloth-wrapper＂ technique with the conceptual blending theory in cognitive linguistics.
