Most of Robert Frost's poems are set in the background of the pastoral life in the countryside of New England which people are familiar with. Besides, his language is easy to understand. Yet behind the familiar surroundings and simple language lie his deep uneasiness and terror. This thesis aims to peel off the guise and reveal the dark themes of his poems.
