摘要 外语动机学的研究经历了社会心理学研究阶段和认知情景模式阶段,近几年则是以D rnyei为代表的过程导向模式下的外语动机时间性、动态性为特征的研究。文章就外语动机变化情况对一名在英国留学的硕士研究生进行访谈,初步检测了外语动机时间性的特征,希望该个案研究能为中国的外语动机研究提供一些有价值的参考依据,并有利于深入研究有效的外语学习动机策略来保护和维持外语学习这一漫长的过程。 The study of L2 motivation has gone through the socio - psychological theory and the cognitive -situated model. As a major challenge of L2 motivation research, a dynamic view of motivation developed by Dǒrnyei attempts to portray motivational changes over time. To exemplify Dǒrnyei's work on L2 temporal aspects as well as to enrich our understanding of the attitudinal/motivational basis of language learning in an EFL country like China, one case study was conducted by means of an interview to examine an MA student' s L2 attitudinal and motivational changes, in the hope that the findings in the report will be valid to the re-search along this line so that effective L2 motivational strategies can be employed to protect and maintain L2 motivation in China.
