摘要
本文从翻译的本质特征之一文化价值的角度探讨了《北京市餐饮业菜单英文译法(讨论稿)》中的文化翻译缺失现象,并佐以例证,指出了中国餐饮文化博大精深,很难有一个确定的翻译标准。同时,笔者亦提出了可实施的解决方案,以期对相关同仁有所帮助。
From the angle of cultural value, which is once of the essential characteristics of translation, the paper explores culture lose in the Standard of English Translation for Menu in Beijing with rich examples and meanwhile points out that it's hard to ascertain a translation criteria for Chinese dishes. Finally, a feasible schedule has been put forward in the hope of achieving win-win aims for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
