摘要
17世纪是英国资本主义制度的确立时期,作为封建文化的决斗与资本主义新文化是格格不入的。英国政府、教会和社会精英都与之进行了有力的斗争,在17世纪先后掀起了两次反决斗运动。这两次革新运动的性质虽有差别,但都不能扫除英国封建文化残余——私人决斗。这种困境阻碍了17世纪英国资本主义的发展与社会的进步。
The 17^th century is the period when the capitalism was fully established, and the duel as the feudal culture is incompatible with capitalism. Therefore, the government, Church and social elites of England all forcefully fought against it. There had been two anti - dueling campaigns in the 17^th century, which has different characteristics, and both of them haven＇ t swept the private duel. This plight hindered the development of capitalism and social progress in England.
