In the paper, an overview is made on the application of ADECO-RS approach in the tunneling in Italy and other foreign countries. Furthermore, the application of ADECO-RS approach in tunneling is presented in detail, with the collapse treatment of Vasto tunnel in Italy as an example. The paper can provide reference for the promotion and application of ADECO-RS approach in the design and construction of tunnels in China.
