摘要
客户机／服务器体系结构是构造数据库系统的一种新技术．文中在对标准客户机／服务器体系结构的特点以及存在的问题进行分析的基础上，针对ＣＡＤ／ＣＡＭ等工程应用独立设计、分工合作、长事务处理的特点，提出了一种扩展客户机／服务器体系结构．并介绍了自行研制的一个基于扩展客户机／服务器体系结构的分布式工程数据库管理系统ｄＥＤＢＭＳ，及其若干关键实现方法．
The client/server architecture is a kind of new technology for constructing database systems. Based on the analysis of the features and some shortcomings of the standard client/server architecture,a kind of extended client/server architecture is proposed,which is fit for CAD/CAM application needs(design alone, cooperation with each other, long transaction process, etc.) .Then introduced are the dEDBMS system——a distributed engineering database management system based on the extended client/server architecture, and some key implementation methods.
