刘勰和巴赫金都深刻认识到,对于具体的作品而言,其体裁的最终实现,有赖于作者熟练而自由地运用适当的体裁充分完满地叙事、状物、传情、达意,实现题材内容、体裁规范和作者自由创造的完美统一。语境、对象和目的、以及话语主体的个人意向和情调是制约体裁样式产生、变形和创新的动力。二者间"体裁"观念的差异,则在于文化历史根源、社会价值观念的不同。

Both Liu Xie and Bakhtin profoundly understood that,for a concrete text,the realization of its genre depended on perfect unity of subject matter,genre criterion and writer＇ s creation. The impetuses for arising, changing and innovating of genres consist of context, object,intention and emotional appeal of discourse subject. Differences in opinion between the two lie in their culture, society, history and values.
