On the Cultural Comparison of Chinese and Western Politeness Principles and Its Inspiration to Teaching

本文从中西文化环境下的礼貌原则入手,分别概括了西方和汉语言文化环境下的礼貌原则,分析了两者的文化差异,提出了中西礼貌原则对教学的启示。

Politeness principle is highly valued in each culture. Due to the different cultures,their politeness principle varies according to their content, focus and strategies. This paper summarizes the politeness principle in Chinese culture and English culture ,analyzes the differences between them and at last it pays attention to the inspiration of teaching given by researching the two different politeness principles.
