清末新政时期八旗军制改革述论

The discussions on the Eight Banners Military Institution Reform in New Deal in Later Qing Dynasty

八旗是清朝入主中原并维系其统治的军事支柱,但在抗击外来侵略和镇压人民起义的过程中,八旗军受到了严重的冲击。清末新政时期,为了重振八旗,清政府对八旗军制进行了改革,顺应了历史的潮流,有其进步意义,反映了时代对八旗的冲击。但是,八旗军制改革并没有彻底完成近代化的目标,八旗的发展趋向仍是沿着旧体制在继续衰败。

Eight Banner System was the military backbone when Manchu dominated the central plain and it, however, was shocked during fighting against outer invasion and oppressing people＇s uprising. During the New Deal in the later Qing Dynasty, the rulers reformed the sytem so as to revive Eight - Banner system which kept with the trend of changes and had certain significance. Meanwhile it reflected times＇attack on it. But the reform failed to finish the medemnizafion and it still went decayed.
