Assign freeboard was probably the earliest requirement related to the safety of ship at sea. It was based on International Convention on Load Line 1966 and its amendment, and it was proposed that freeboard should be based on the concept of deck wetness and protection of crew. There are several correction for certain items and the correction for sheer is the most puzzle one for designer. The virtual sheer is different from the actual sheer, and it is base on the final deficiency or excess sheer.
