Review of the New Handbook of ST

STS曾推出两版综合性研究手册,第二版近年来在国内学界引起研究热潮,STS的社会建构主义进路深入人心。2007年底,手册第三版问世,一改第二版激进而轻率的社会建构主义,转向实践框架下的跨学科综合研究,尝试与科学哲学的沟通更是新亮点。新手册寓意着STS的一场成年礼,标志着STS进入真正成熟的发展阶段。

STS had published two editions of comprehensive handbook. The second has influenced many Chinese scholars till now, and the ap proach of social constructivism has been understood and accepted widely. At the end of 2007, the third edition came out. It shifts the attention of the radical social constructivism to the framework of practice, starts cross-disciplinary comprehensive research, and especially begins to communicate with philosophy of science. The new handbook means an adulthood ritual for STS, and from it on, STS virtually becomes mature.
