An Overview of Library and Information Science Education in Developing Countries

摘要 本文通过对《国际信息和图书评论》(IILR)期刊中同类文章分析,综述了发展中国家图书馆学、情报学教育现状,讨论了有些反复讨论的问题,如发展中国家LIS的相关课程,为何多依赖西方的教育模式,而不重视自身专业特色,很多国家缺乏提升图书馆信息专业人员素质的力度,缺乏应对信息社会挑战的技能,而相关课程缺乏政府支持,是众多发展中国家的共性。参考文献2。 This paper introduces the special issue on education of library and information science in developing countries. It reviews past articles that appeared in The International Information and Library Review ( IILR. ) on the same topic and comments. Some issues have remained problems throughout the history of the journal that why the relevance of LIS curriculum of developing countries is too dependent on the western education mode to lack of respecting on the profession character. Many countries need to upgrade the skill of librarians and other information profession to address the challenges of the information society, and many curriculums are short of the government support which become the common character of many developing countries. 2 Refs.
