汉英新闻语篇中转述动词的比较分析——以《中国日报》和《纽约时报》为例

A Comparative Analysis of the Reporting Verbs in China Daily and the New York Times

对新闻语篇中转述言语的分析早已超越了传统的局限,从着重直接引语和间接引语之间的形式转换转而关注对它们作出语篇和语用上的解释,人们认识到转述引语的性质与功能因语篇类型的不同而有所不同,对它们的研究应建立在具体的语篇和语境上。转述动词构成引语最直接的语境,具有预示和支配其理解的功能。本文拟以有限的语料为基础对《中国日报》和《纽约时报》中转述动词进行初步的比较分析,并对它们之间在此方面的一些异同做出尝试性的语篇和语用上的解释。

Contemporary studies of reported speech have significantly shifted their efforts from the traditional concern with syntactic operations for transforming direct into indirect speech to situated accounts of speech reporting which are sensitive to contexts and discourse types. The verbs used in utterances reporting on speech are of special importance to the understanding and effect of such utterances. This paper is a tentative comparative analysis of the use and distribution of the reporting verbs in China Daily and the New York Times.
