党的十六届六中全会对当前和今后一个时期构建社会主义和谐社会作出了重要部署,将坚持教育优先发展、促进教育公平作为构建和谐社会的一项重要内容。大学校园是和谐社会的一个组成部分,是直接向和谐社会培养输送高素质人才的基地,是促进和谐社会建设的一支重要力量。因此,社会主义和谐社会对大学的发展提出了新的要求,同时也为高校共青团工作提供了新的发展机遇和广阔舞台。立足改革发展稳定的大局和构建社会主义和谐社会的工作全局,大力加强思想政治教育,努力构建和谐校园,应该成为高校共青团重要的工作内容之一。

In the 6th plenary session of the 16th Central Committee of the CPC, important arrangements have been made on constructing a harmonious socialism society currently and in the near future, sticking to educational development prior to other respects and promoting education to be an indispensable part in constructing a harmonious society. Being a part of harmonious society, college campuses offer highly qualified parsons with ability as bases and play an important part in advancing the harmonious society construction. Therefore, harmonious society construction demands more and supplies new opportunity for the college Youth League. Strengthening education of mentality and politics and striving to construct harmonious campuses should be a great part in college Youth League work based on the background of constructing a harmonious society.
