摘要
数学表达式的自动识别是将科学和工程文献中的数学表达式转变成电子文档的一个关键手段.数学表达式的识别由符号识别和结构分析两个主要阶段组成,符号识别又分两步骤,即符号的分割和识别.文章介绍了目前数学表达式识别的研究现状,给出了联机手写数学表达式的识别过程,对符号识别方法和结构分析方法进行概述.对数学表达式识别过程中的重要论点进行比较深入的阐述,根据一些总结性的评述,讨论了其他相关问题以及数学表达式识别的发展趋势.
Automatic recognition of mathematical expressions is one of the key vehicles that transform the Mathematical Expression in the scientific and engineering documents into electronic documents. This problem typically consists of two major stages, namely, symbol recognition and structural analysis . Symbol recognition also can be separated into two major steps which segmentation and recognition of symbols. In this survey paper, we will introduce the development in the field of the mathematical expression recognition, gives the detailed process of the mathematical expression recognition and review most of the existing work with respect to methods of symbol recognition and structure analysis. Moreover, some important issues in mathematical expression recognition will be addressed in depth. According to some concluding comments to discuss other related issues, as well as the mathematical expression for the development trend.
