A Review of the Research on Office Space in China Since the 1990s

对上世纪90年代以来我国商务办公空间的文献进行系统全面综述,总结办公空间研究的内容体系,包括对办公活动、办公业的概念讨论、办公空间的区位与布局研究、办公产业空间、总部经济空间、城市CBD空间以及商务办公空间与城市发展的互动关系等方面;概括了商务办公空间研究的理论框架和研究方法演变,前者包括基于办公空间选址的空间区位论、基于集聚与扩散趋势的办公空间结构论和基于企业行为主体的空间决策论,后者包含从简单的定性描述到注重理论解释、数量和模型化趋势等演变过程。展望未来,办公空间的研究将会是地理学研究的一个热点,无论是研究内容、理论框架和研究方法,都将会进入一个高峰期。

Business office space has developed rapidly since the 1990s and a great deal of related literature has been produced in China. The main research topics of office space can be divided into the following parts： the concepts on the office industry and office space within academic field; the location and distribution of business office space, business office industry space, headquarter economy space, and urban CBD space; and the relation between office space development and urban development. The theory frameworks of business office space studies in China nowadays include the location theory, spatial structure theory based on the clustering and dispersion trends, and the office space decision theory based on the behaviour of business enterprise lords. The study methods and research types on business office space studies in China since 1990 has experienced two evolvement processes： one is from initial simple qualitative description to emphasis on analysis, explanation and the combination of theories and experiences; the other is that quantitative analysis and modeling methods have been used to explain some office space development trends, but they have not formed a systematic study framework yet. In near future, office space study will be a hot point of geography studies especially in the field of urban geography, both the research contents and the study methods will go to a new peak.
