The main technical characteristics of DS12C887 were introduced including the function of its pins and internal registers. Here the schematic circuit diagram were designed where it applied in MCS-51 System. After installing and troubleshooting the practical circuit,the programs of initialization, data read and data write of DS12C887 were given. The experiment results showed that this system can set and display time and date correctly through the keyboard, and have the merits of small board area occupied, stability , reliability and so on.
