摘要
The name of Chu history book Tao Wu came from the origin of ancestor’s sacrificial-log,which was mentioned in Chapter Li Lou Xia of Meng Zi.The Sanxingdui bronze human head,presumed to be mounted with the round logs-Tao Wu,are morphologically as same as the carving wooden one found in Jinsha site,Chengdu.The author suggests that both of them were originally used to sacrifice their ancestors,and might come from the southern states along the Yangtze River.Tao Wu is the logs which were made into the portraits after the ancient ancestors in Bashu and Chu area,while the bronze standing human heads in Sanxingdui were their reproduction.
