摘要
词语通过社会语言环境的调变和再编码,规约成"恒定"的语义值,即当新衍生出的词义在言语社群扩散并固着下来时,便会脱离语境,成为另外一个独立的义项。本文通过探索文化对语言的调变,追溯语用中词语的词源,在不同的社会语境中词语的语义,以此说明语义能够在社会语境中褪色或着色。
Words, through adaptation and re-codification under social context, are conventionalized into ＂invariant＂ semantic values. When a newly derived meaning spreads in a community it may get entrenched, that is, it is decontextualized to become an independent lexeme. This paper traces the etymology of words through inquiring the role that culture plays in the change of the lexicon to reveal semantic bleaching and re-coloring under social context.
