This paper reviewed the developments in our country's diesel locomotive over the past five decades,including 6 development stages and the renovation of 4 generations domestic diesel locomotives;introduced the achievements of domestic diesel locomotive in its' development over 50 years;evaluated the technical level of domestic diesel locomotive;outlined the current situation of domestic diesel locomotive;looked into the future development of domestic diesel locomotive.
