客观性在托马斯·内格尔的理解中包含了两个层次的含义,在这种基本态度的支配下,托马斯·内格尔对客观性立场的形成,它的合法性和限制性,它在诸如知识、自由、伦理、价值、道德、等领域的适用性以及所遇到的问题,都一一展示。同时人是奇妙的存在,人的认识能力作为客观存在的存在者,这种内在的作用和外部的要求之间的冲突在追求具有客观性的知识时,就具体表现为人的超越本性和人自身的限制的冲突。在《从无处看世界》这本书中,托马斯·内格尔把这种从无处看世界的客观性观点贯彻到了自由、价值、伦理、生存的权利和意志以及生、死、生命的意义等方面,最终形成了全面的有关世界整体的观点。

On the view of Thomas Nagel, objectivity has two basic meanings, and according to tins two meanings, the standpoints to objectivity, the validity and the limit, and also the applicability in the knowledge, freedom, ethic, value, moral and the questionst come across both were exhibited by Nagel. On the other word, human beings are wonderful existence, and the ability of understanding is objective exist reality. The conflict between internal function and the external request exhibits itself as the conflict between the transcendental nature and the limits of human beings themselves in the pursuing to the objective knowledge.
