On Huang Kan's Achievement of Traditional Philology

黄侃是20世纪初期"国故派"的代表人物之一,在中国民族文化被"西化"浪潮冲击得走向极端、传统文化几乎被全盘否定的历史时期,他坚守"国学"阵地,坚持对民族文化的继承,提倡建设中国本体文化,在文字、音韵、训诂等方面均取得了令人瞩目的成就,为中国传统语言学的建立和发展做出了突出贡献。

Huang Kan was one of the deputies of the ＂Guogu School＂ at the initial stage of 20th century. In the historic period when Chinese traditional culture was striken by the western culture and was almost negatived, he still held the Chinese traditional culture＇ s ground, persevered in inheriting national culture and called for constructing Chinese own culture. He contributed a lot to the construction and development of Chinese traditional philology.
