中国古典戏曲不少经典剧作重视舞台搬演而忽略戏剧情节矛盾冲突,与西方的戏剧审美观大相径庭,通过对该现象进行深入的归因和剖析,理解中华戏剧文明的内在旨趣。又从泛文化角度进行比较、梳理和论证,指出中国舞台艺术的前途是继往开来,中西合璧,对传统回望,对西方借鉴,成就自己新世纪的戏剧审美方式。

The paper offers an analysis of the way many Chinese traditional opera classics emphasize stage presentation at the expense of plot structure and argues that this predilection forms an interesting contrast to Western aesthetical preferences.
