The technique of metal magnetic memory test is a new discipline in the field of nondestructive inspection. By using this technique, the phenomenon of stress concentration and defect existed in metal magnetic material component can be diagnosed in early stage so as to protect equipment from fatigue. The fundamental principles and characteristics of metal magnetic memory technique were briefly described in this article. The development and application of this technique in non - destructive inspection for boiler and pressure vessel were also introduced.
