Any narrative is conducted by a certain narrative subject, whose self-consciousness takes an irreplaceable leading position in the creation of narrative texts. The narrative subject remains self-conscious all the time, though it is in constant change, sometimes being visible while sometimes invisible, in a state that is either strengthened, or weakened or divided. This article attempts to explore the laws of this change by analyzing the three states of the narrative subject as it exists in the narrative text, in order to reveal the self-consciousness the narrative subject inevitably displays in narrative process.
