Aiming at incorrect comprehension and application of seismic adjustment coefficient of bearing capacity for designers, the present paper analyses why the code adopts seismic adjustment coefficient and its expression form, and puts forward the method for correctly comprehending and applying it, which may be used for reference to designers making seismic design using seismic adjustment coefficient.
