直2008年9月15日，属于中钢集团总裁黄天文的节日才真正到来。经过近十个月（300天）的多边厮杀后，中钢集团正式完成对澳大利亚中西部公司（Midwest Corporation）的收购，以13亿美元将对方98．52％的股权纳入囊中，中国企业首起海外敌意并购案告一段落。
Huang Tianwen,Chairman of Sinosteel Corporation has not been relaxed until September 15:2008.After nearly 10 months(300 days)of multilateral negotiation,Sinosteel Corporation took over 98.52 percent shareholdings of Midwest Corporation of Australia at the price of 1.3 billion U.S.dollars,which means Chinese first hostile acquisition overseas came to an end. Although Sinosteers case was far from that of Aluminum Corp.of China(which purchased 12 percent stock right of Rio Tinto Plc through open market operations at the price of 14.05 billion U.S. dollars)in terms of size,the process of its breaking through step by step so as to achieve the ultimate goal was more dramatic and complicated.This case can be listed as classic among resource-based acquisitions overseas in recent years.
