Preserving Historic Buildings in the Pudong New Area

浦东新区历史建筑保护曾经存在因项目开发而导致历史建筑被拆毁、因经费缺乏而导致历史建筑得不到及时修缮、因法律法规刚性度不够而导致保护历史建筑行为的可操作性不强等问题。近年来,浦东新区通过明确保护范围、实施分类保护、构建历史建筑保护体系等方式实现对历史建筑的保护与利用,建立保护的长效机制,确保历史建筑得以长久保存。

Many historic buildings in the Pudong new area have been demolished and replaced by new development because of the lack of preservation legislation and renovation funding. The Pudong new area should define a preservation area for historic buildings and implement useful preservation measures. A preservation system should be established to both protect and reuse historic buildings.
