《管锥编》的英译与中西文化的异同之争

Cultural Difference between China and Western World Embodied in the English Translation of Guan Zhui Bian

语言间的翻译和文化间的比较不可避免地要处理好“同”与“异”的关系。翻译是在译入语中寻找到对异质文化的相同的表述基础，而比较则旨在对两种文化进行同异互参。在对《管锥编》的英文选译的分析中不难看出翻译和比较的不同价值取向。同时，这种分析也彰显出了发生中西文化异同之争的原因，即争论双方出发点的不同。

The translation between languages and the comparison between cultures have to deal with similarities and differences. Translation is to find similar expression for something culturally different in the target language while comparison is to display similarities and differences between two cultures. In the English translation of Guan Zhui Bian we can perceive the different orientation of values of translation and com- parison. Also, this analysis can reveal the causes of the cultural conflict between China and Western world, which is the different purposes of both parties.
