摘要
粉末锻造连杆由于具有重量轻、加工量少、强度高、质量一致性好的特点,在全球范围内已被广泛应用于现代高性能汽油机和柴油机。针对内燃机性能不断强化的需求,Metaldyne公司开发了一系列新的粉末配方,详细阐述粉末配方对材料机械强度以及对成型连杆强度的影响。与传统的锻造连杆的强度与失效模态进行了全面的比较,研究结果表明新粉末配方具有更优的机械强度特性、更高的连杆强度及更优的连杆成型质量一致性。
Powder metal forged connecting rods possess unique characteristics such as light weight, less machining stock, high strength and excellent quality consistence. As a resuh, powder metal forged connecting rods are widely used in high performance gasoline and diesel engines worldwide, in order to meet the need of future high performance engines, a series of powder materials are developed. In this paper, the effects of these materials on the mechanical properties and the strength of manufactured connecting rods are investigated and summarized. Comparisons are made regarding connecting rod strength and failure mechanisms between forged steel rods and powder metal forged rods. The results show that connecting rods made of new materials have much higher strength, better quality consistence and better manufacturability.
