"兼爱"是墨子思想的核心和精华。其学说注重于人与人、人与社会的和谐相处。当今中国正处于复杂的历史变革时期,社会上出现了一些不和谐的现象,如由于收入分配差别而引起的贫富差距过大;对物的过分依赖而导致的人际关系脆弱;社会信用的缺失;群体性对抗事件的频率加大等。重新发掘墨子"兼爱"思想的价值,对于今天和谐社会的构建有重要启示。

Universal love, which means treating others as oneself and showing love to everyone without noticing their social positions and intimacy or estrangement, is the core and essence of Mohizm. So it emphasizes the harmony between people and people, humans and society. Nowadays, we are in the complicated period of historic reform. So we put forward the slogan of constructing harmonious society in the market economic system of the socialism with Chinese characteristics This is because of there are many disharmonious phenomenon in the society, such as the big gap between rich and poor caused by income distribution., the frail interpersonal relationship caused by the lavish dependence to materials, the deletion of social credibility, the increasing frequency of group confrontation and so on. Now, it is an important enlightenment to excavate the value of Mohizm for constructing harmonious society.
