Confucius, who lived in the end of the ＇Spring and Autumn Period, travelled everywhere to explain his ideas but the reception was not always favorable. He could never have imagined that 2500 years after his death, his thinking and philosophy have attracted more and more people all over the world. Actually, Confucius has become the symbol of Chinese traditional culture not only in China but even in the whole world. There is no doubt that Confucius is the most famous Chinese in the western countries.
