Transcriptions of the Sanskrit jā

根据梵文复合字母jā在12、13世纪之交河西地区的音译,发现其在西夏蒙元时代并没有统一的读法,这应该是盛唐密宗佛教传入河西地区以后译经者由于师承各异而产生的不同翻译习惯所致。

It is pointed out in the present paper that there were no unified transcriptions of Sanskrit jnā in the Gansu Corridor of the Tangut-Mongol Times, the reason of which ought to be the different practice of Buddhist transcription by different teaching traditions after the spreading of Tantrism from the Central Kingdom into the Gansu Corridor.
