The major reasons of the lower pragmatic competence in Chinese college students are analyzed and researched. The importance and necessity of the pragmatic competence and the close relationship between some pragmatic principles and strategies are stressed. Men＇s cognitive competence and inferential competence have great influence on students＇ pragmatic competence. The further pragmatic and cognitive awareness and better psychological and intellectual quality of both teachers and students＇ are reconfirmed.
