On the Connection between Our Traditional Education Thought and Modern University Philosophy

我国传统教育思想与现代高等教育之间,存在着不可割绝的历史联系。现代大学具有学术自由、教授治校以及教学与科研相统一等基本理念。这些基本理念在我国传统教育思想很早就存在。我们在大力提倡现代大学理念的时候,不应忽视我国传统教育思想。

There is an inseparable historical connection between the idea of traditional education and the modern higher education. The modem universities have a basic philosophy of academic freedom, scholarly pursuits, integration of teaching and scientific research, which have already existed in our traditional education thought. While we advocate the modern university philosophy, we shouldn＇ t ignore our traditional education thought.
