THE BRIEF HISTORY OF PROBABILITY THEORY

本文简要地介绍了概率论从17世纪50年代创立至今,近340年的发展过程。考察了导致概率论产生的历史契机,以及早期数学家在这方面作出的杰出工作;探讨了哥莫尔洛夫等数学家怎样使概率论从一门不严密的学科变成一门十分严密的数学学科的历史过程:简要地介绍了概率论的近期发展。

In this paper, the developing process of probability theory are introduced, which from the middle of seventeenth century(?) to now. In the first part, the historical reasons which caused the birth of probability is discussed and also the major works done by the early mathematicians. In the second part, we disscuss process that probability how change into a accurate science from a inaccurate branch of mathematics. In the end, several the developing directions of modern probability are briefly introduced.
