Emperor Qin and the Assassinator:Expressionof National Heroes and State Origin of China

将《荆轲刺秦王》、《英雄》两部影片置于中国历史文化的时空场域之中,旨在更为深入地解读并分析二者的故事情节与叙事方式,并力图探察"大一统"情结在中国社会文化生活中意味深长的持续性及衍生性。认为中国国家起源的神话在当代中国社会依然富有相当的影响力,中国民众的民族主义情绪和实践并非总是政府意愿的产物。

Putting the films ＂Jinke Assassinating Emperor Qin King＂ and ＂The Hero＂ in the context of Chinese historical culture, this paper aims at interpreting and analyzing the plots and narrative forms of the films, and tries to discuss the suitability and derivativeness of ＂the Great Unification＂ complex in the social and cultural life in China. It holds that the myth of state origin of China still has considerable impact on modern Chinese society, and that the nationalist emotion and practice of Chinese people are not always the products of the will of the government.
