摘要
首先运用语料库方法研究了中国大学英语学习者连接词的使用特点,结果表明:与本族语者相比,中国大学英语学习者的连接词使用频数总体偏高,并且中国大学英语学习者与本族语者在连接词的主要语义关系表达上表现出较大的差异,学习者超用或少用某些义项。其次分析造成差异的原因为母语迁移、学习者语体意识薄弱、学习者学习策略的运用和其词汇知识的广度和深度不够等。最后探讨了以上研究结果对英语教学所带来的启示。
This paper is a corpus-based contrastive study of the use of connectors in the Chinese non- English Majors' English production. Results show that there is a high ratio of overuse of most of the 25 connectors in learners' writing, in comparison to native speakers' production, and the two corpora display considerable differences in the logical-semantic distribution of connectors, with Chinese learners tending to overuse and underuse certain relations. The marked differences in the above mentioned aspects are likely to be subject to such factors as mother tongue transfer, learners' lack of stylistic awareness, their deficiency in the width and depth of lexical knowledge and their application of learning strategies, etc. In conclusion, some suggestions concerning the pedagogical implications of this study to English teaching are made.
