The application of China Classification Society ＇s （CCS） independently developed structure analysis software CCS-Tools in Common Structure Rules （CSR） oil tanker design and drawing approval is introduced, taking a VLCC as an example. IACS JTP oil tanker design programme is the latest research result of CCS. It will accelerate design and check of oil tankers by advanced and perfect computational approach, and help to get rid of heavy and complicated direct strength calculation work.
