幽默既是一种语言艺术,又是一种行为特征。运用幽默是创设愉快英语教学情境的一种方法,它能激发学生的英语学习兴趣,提高学生的心理素质,活跃课堂气氛,并能融洽师生感情,进而提高课堂教学效率。教师应注重加强自身的文化素质和语言修养,培养幽默感,在英语教学中掌握幽默的技巧、注意幽默的时机,把握幽默的分寸。

Humor is both a language art and a behavioral feature. Using humor is an effective measure to create a good teaching environment, for it can arouse the student＇s interests, improve the student＇s mental quality, stir class atmosphere and change the relationship between the teacher and the student, furthermore, it can enhance the teaching effectiveness. So the teaeher should enrich themselves both on culture quality and language skill and cultivate the sense of humor. It is very important to master the skill, pay attention to the timing and control the sense of discretion.
