摘要
存现句在英语和汉语当中都非常普遍。两种语言中的存现句有相似性,主要表现在:英汉语存现句都具有相同的底层结构,在语义上都阐述在某处存在、出现或消失某人或某物,在语用方面都具有相同的信息结构,在语篇中都能提出新信息。
The existential construction is widely used both in English and Chinese. Quite a lot of previous studies on this construction focus on its syntactic structure. This paper will discuss similarities between English existential sentences and Chinese existential sentences from three perspectives - syntactic structure, semantic content and pragmatic function. English existential sentences and Chinese existential sentences have the same deep structure; they express similar semantic contents; and they have the same information structure.
