What I Have Lived for

三种纯真却极强烈的情感驾驭着我的生活：对爱的渴求、对知识的探索和对人类痛苦难以忍受的同情。这些情感犹如狂风，将我裹卷着四处飘浮，越过深重的苦海．直至那绝望的边缘。

Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life： the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity forthe suffering of have blown me mankind. These passions, hither and thither, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to like great winds, wayward course, the very verge ofdespair.
