香港与澳门两地的华语有着高度的共通性,它们的共同的词语被称之为"港澳词语",其构成主要包括:港澳共同区域词语、港澳共同外语借词和港澳共同粤语词语。但是香港与澳门之间却有着各自完全不同的历史背景与文化源流,这就使得港澳之间存在着词语差异,这种差异可分为"香港分区特有词语"与"澳门分区特有词语",其类别包括:两区不同的外语借词、两区不同的粤语词语。"港澳词语"是全球华语的重要组成部分,大陆普通话曾经吸取了不少"港台词语",其中大部分是"港澳词语"。
