On Reform and Opening-up and Its Impact upon Socialist Cognition

三十年的改革开放,使我们对"什么是社会主义,如何建设社会主义"的认识,经历了从苏联搞的就是社会主义,照苏联那样干来建设社会主义,到不能把公有制、计划经济、按劳分配简单地等同于社会主义,必须认清当代社会主义的历史方位,必须结合当代中国国情的实际来认识社会主义、来建设社会主义的发展,深化了对社会主义的认识,发展了科学社会主义的理论。

After thirty years of reform and opening-up, we had got a better understanding of ＂what is socialism and how to build it＂ by experiencing the cognition transform from considering the Former Soviet Russia＇s model as socialist construction and imitating Russia to build socialism to thinking that it is im- proper to equal public-owned system, planned economy and distribution according to work to sociahsm. The author holds that we must cognize the contemporary socialist orientation and China＇ s current situation so as to understand socialism, to build socialism, deepen our understanding of socialism, and enrich the theory of scientific socialism.
